Biography

Boris Pinkhasovich graduated cum laude from the St Petersburg Glinka Chorus School in 2005 and from the Choral Conducting and Vocal Departments of the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2010 and 2011 correspondingly.

Nowadays, the singer appears at the best European venues. Currently, he is the soloist of the Vienna Opera and Bavarian Opera, the guest soloist of the Paris Opera and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Monte-Carlo Opera. He also appears at the Saltsburg Festival. His recent engagements include Onegin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin in Vienna and Munich, Sharpless in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut In Vienna, and Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff in Munich. He was a featured soloist at the Chorégies d’Orange Gala Concert and in the Hvorostovsky Memorial Concert at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Recently the Avignon Opera has hosted a recital of Boris Pinkhasovich.

The singer cooperated with Mariss Jansons, Saulius Sondeckis, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Vladimir Jurowski, Dmitri Jurowski, Peter Feranec, Philippe Jordan, Michele Mariotti, Kirill Petrenko, Mikhail Tatarnikov, Alexander Vedernikov, Bertrand de Billy, and other conductors. He performed with the London Philharmonia Orchestra, Orchestra of the Munich Radio and others.

In 2011, he joined the Mikhailovsky Opera, where nowadays he performs leading baritone roles in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Verdi’s La traviata, Puccini’s Manon Lescaut and Tosca, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Queen of Spades. Here he also performed leading baritone roles in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (productions by Stanislav Gaudasinsky and Vasily Barkhatov), Puccini’s La Bohème (productions by Arnaud Bernard and Robert Carsen), concert performances of Bizet’s Carmen, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, and Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov.
